Dad,
That was a great mission in Busia.
We left Kampala at 10:30am in a taxi [16 passenger van] with our bibles and all other
stuffs packed at the back as you can see in the photos. This taxi goes up to Namayigo town. It takes a dusty road from Iganga to Namayingo, leaving the Kampala-Tororo highway. We arrived in Namayingo, a big village town without electricity, tap water or a non dusty road/streets. We were looking like we had taken a dust bath with our clothes on. Everyone got out of the taxi full of dust but nobody was surprised at all because it's a normal thing to them. We had to ride on boda boda [motor-bike], 25 miles to the village church (Dohwe village). The boda boda [motor-bike] guys were more dirty and full dust because they take several routes in those village roads. It was another long ride on a boda boda to Dohwe. We arrived at 6:40 pm and they received us with great joy and the women were making lots that loud [trill] sound which that widow in Bukedea made when we arrived at her new home that evening if you recall.

After the long boda ride down dusty roads we had to take a bath before we could do anything else, then we had a nice village meal and rested till the following morning which was Wednesday, Feb. 13th. By 9:00am our seminar had already begun. Oh what a great start, receiving pastors and leaders from near and far. Many came riding on their bicycles, twenty and thirty miles away, and others came by foot 10-20miles.We had a wonderful time of getting to know one another and in wonderful praise and worship moments. I started by giving brief details about our ministry (Bibles for Uganda). Then Joshua shared a great massage "THE IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING THE TRUTH AND FOLLOWING ONLY THE TRUTH".
.
Then in the evening, I taught new testament "giving" and gave them a
stern warning about the heretical prosperity preachers and all those who violate
the truth. They could not believe that we came all this way from the city because
all city preachers who come to their places, manipulate and steal from them so
they came up with the conclusion that all city pastors are manipulators and thieves. They could not believe such sound Gospel by city preachers
such as we and everyone had a story to tell. son Jimmy

Dad,
Continuation
of my report.
On our second day of the seminar, everyone was very excited and each of them at least wanted to share a story, testimony or show his/her apreciation before the congregation. It was not posible due to the limited time we had.But we still had same stories. We had the chairman pastors fellowship of that sub-county.he was so much touched by our teachings and he told us that two days back he atended a confrence were a bishop came and draged the host pastor from the cofrence just infront of all other pastors, leaders and christians who were in that confrence and began to fight him seriously.acusing him of organising a confrence and hosting guest preachers without his permision. This is one of the many seed faith/anointin/confrences which alwas takes place in the villages.they always host city preachers and they collect a lot of huge seed offerings, and the bigger potion of the offering is suposed to be taken by the bishop.so this pastor comited a big offence not to inform his bishop.bishop caused a big confusion and finaly expelled the perstor and his fellowship from his ministry.
Another pastor told us a story about a prosperity confrence they went riding their bicycle to attend in a nearby town. Its organised by a city preacher. The preacher told them that everyone should give a huge seed offering.when he realized that most of these village pastors are so poor to give huge offering,he began to tell them that they fake pastors, that a real pastor should be able to sow a big seed, dress smartly and expensively.he went ahead to tell them that a sign of God's calling and anoiting upon any of his servant is alway how much wealth that person has.how can you be a pastor if you can't afford to put on a good suits, shoes whenever you are preaching on the pulpit?the poor village pastors felt so demoralize, small and ashamed and they had to leave before the end of
the confrence.Son

Village organizing committee with Pastor Jimmy |
It was a wonderful moment sharing with them about our ministry (Bibles for Uganda), our vision and mission. We shared number of things, and here comes the village stories as usual; A bishop who was in the meeting, this time stood up and showed much appreciation to God for our ministry and to us for having such a great vision. He said that a bible is the most special gift to a village pastor due to the challenge he always find whenever he goes to evangelize with his dilapidated bible which has missing pages, he rides his bicycle many miles away and people ask him question which they what him to answer from the scripture although he knows from the head. and are in the missing pages of his bible. This is the same challenge to many other pastors says the bishop. So if someone brings two gifts, a new bible, and a new bicycle, and tells him to chose one, he would choose a bible. He also told us that his old friends who turned into prosperity preachers and are now having big town churches always sympathize with him and telling him to join them in the cities because he is so poor and serving God in this hard and difficulty village life is not real ministry, its like a curse. He always wonders if every pastor goes to the city, who will preach to the village people. I then share with them about how important and special they are before their lord who called and trusted them to serve in the village were the great city pastors cannot pastor even for a week, and for them, they have stood steadfastly and faithful serve the lord for many years.''The glory of any village pastor is the holes on his soles and the damage in the seat of his trouser''says Omuzungu Omunene Owekiwalata [the big bald white man----Brother Danny], "and the bicycle chain greez on their trouser as well'' says the village pastors with great encouragement, joy and laughing. Every pastor was thankful and indeed it was a great and blessed moment to me.
This are some of the photos from the village. This pastor is a potter. He makes this pots and sell them to the villagers.they use them to keep drinking water and for fetching water from the wells.

The pastor's house were i slept is that small hut you see him bending

grass for roofing.

They had an iron roof Church house with a papyrus wall but recently they had a strong wind which swept down the whole shelter. So now they are setting up a brick wall so that they can put back the roof.
You can also see clearly the real village style. The toilet, and
the bedding which "bishop" Jimmy uses when he is out for "his most anointed and
powerful missionary trips" ha ha ha.The best "seed faith offering" he was given this time
is a small village pot for bishops dear wife for easy cooking of meat and

and now for the long ride back to the highway to board a sixteen passenger van [with sometimes as many as twenty passengers] which will take him to the Kampala taxi station where he will board another passenger van for the final trek home to Entebbe March 2013----Bukaduka Mission report
Bukaduka village,Lyama perish,Bulangira sub-county in Kibuku
district (formerly part of Palisa) Dad, My trip this time was another great one.I left Entebe with bibles andmy other stuffs packed in my big blue bag which Sherry gave me.That bag is helping me a lot in my missions.after packing bibles, I don't have to break myself caring it; I just roll it to the taxi stage. So I boarded taxi [16 passenger van] from home Entebbe to Kampala were Joshua was waiting for me at the taxi park and then we boarded a taxi which goes to Mbale north of Jinja. This taxi dropped us at Kadama trading center in Kibuku district which was formerly part of palisa district just few kilomitres to Mbale town. Then we boarded boda-boda [small motorbike], then about twenty miles to the host church.Bukaduka Church of God in Bukaduka village, Lyama perish, Bulangira sub-county in Kibuku district (formerly part of Palisa) where we had the pastors and church leaders meeting. Saturday 16th/March was the meeting day.pastors and church leaders/elders came from far and nearby different village churches. Some of them arrived on Friday evening.some came by foot others came riding on their bicycles. We had a very wonderful meeting with these village pastors/leaders. Joshua taught in the fast session then i taught the second and we did a bible drive in the evening.
After the bible drive, most pastors and leaders went back to atend sunday service at their repective Churches. We spend a nite in the pastors small mud/grass house.then on sunday morning he request me to see their new project were they have a nursary and primary school and are try to help the poorest of the poor children, children from the most affected families by the Lakwena rebels war and the disabled by giving them free education. Their school has up to primary five and they have over 90 pupils/children.the able children pay 20,000=per term [eight dollars U.S.]. This money help them to run the school. He told me about the girl who has no hands. She is in p.5 and she uses her toes to write and to do other things. I felt so impressed to see this girl and the school as well. I ask how far it is to the school and as usual he told me,''not too far''but i new it was a very long distance aways so a boda-boda guy came and i fueled it with good amount of fuel. Then we started the journey three of us, the school, director, pastor and me. I asked why shold we have to take one boda boda, he said a scond boda will cost us too much money. So we started the journey and the boda guy took us at a real good speed, but we were not reaching. We went all the way to the scond village of Bukedea from Kibuku, Kajamaka village, Kidongole sub-county in Bukedea district. This is were the school is located. When we arived at the school compand there were some parents waiting to meet me and hear a shot speach from me. I could not believe my eyes when i saw the building/class room, a one room small hut toilet for all the whole school, a urinating place made of dry banana leaves and an open place kitchen were they cook porage for the school children. Dad there is no way i can explain this but you can see it by yourself in the photos.
May 2013 mission report
Bukimbi and Mwema village,in Bukimbi
and Buhember sub-county,
Namayingo district (formally part of Busia
district)
Dad
We started our journey on Monday 6th last week. I left Entebbe during mid morning to join Joshua in Kampala [capital city], in order for us to boad a taxi which goes direct to Namayingo which is the nearby town to the village. Its over 35miles from this town to the village and the only means of transport is boda boda. When we arrived at the taxi park in kampala, The only Namayingo taxi had just left. So we alternatively boaded a different taxi [16 passenger van] which took us to Bugiri town. But immediately we arrived in Bugiri,it started raining yet it was also getting late in the evening. After the rain, the boda boda guys told us that we could no longer proceed with our journey to Bukibi village because all roads leading to the villages were so slippery and impassable with boda boda,it was also getting late and the distance is over 55miles. The only advice was to spend a night in Bugiri. So we slept in a hotelroom in Bugiri. Then very ealy the next morning on Tuesday 7th we got a boda boda and started our journey again.
The boda boda guy was indeed an expert but due to much mud, it was a real struggle as you can see in the photos; some parts we had to get off and give the guy a push, and other parts the boda has to cross without the passagers, so we had to cross on foot. We even fell as the guy tried to force his way through with us on boad.I took us 4hrs then we arrived at the conference at
10:00am.
Pastor Jimmy traversing the impassable road
We found when the morning session had already started and the
church house was already full to capacity. They mobilized pastors and church leaders from two sub-counties, and people were flooding into the conference from as far as 30-10 miles and nearby places. Some riding bicycles other on foot.
By the time we finish the first
sension, it was drizzling (little rain) yet the number had doubled and most people were seated outside. They had setup a shade outside using some old tarpaulins. After lunch the rain had stopped so we had our afternoon session outside under the shede. That fast day we had over 350people, they received the gospel with joy and were so blessed. It was a big surprise to them to hear pastors from the city preaching sound doctrine and confronting all sorts of prosperity, seed faith, and maniplative and heretic gospels. Some of our
massages were so new to them but after searching through the scriptures and taking a kin study, they came to realize that all the truth is just hidden in their bibles. And this made them to love BIBLES FOR UGANDA the more.
After our evening session on that first day, we received a
report forthe second sub-county that pastors and leaders who were supposed to come from there could not come. They had a heavy rain which made the roads soooo muddy and flooded the small river which borders this two sub-counties. After receiving this report, I had a meeting with the organizing committee and other pastors to find an immediate solution for this problem so that all our pastors may benefit from the conference.
During their preperation, they suggested an alternative second venue just in case the river floods and crosses the road during the conference days before our pastors from Buhemba sub-county cross to the conference. So we all agreed in this meeting to have a second venue in Buhemba sub-county. We agreed to have two days and give out half of the total number of bibles in Bukimbi and likewise in Buhemba. Then we made phone call right away to pastors and all leaders of Buhemba informing them about the changes. As we’re winding up our meeting, A woman overseer for one of the big ministry/Church in Kampala stood up and said that her bishop has send her inform pastors he will be in Iganga town. To equip all village pastors to be grounded in their Pentecostal doctrines, in order for them to be able to stand against/reject any other gospel which may come their way. She also told them that the bishop have provided a van which will be waiting at Namayingo town to take pastors to Iganga for the meeting and every pastor is to pay 35,000 schillings [14 dollars----a week's wages] for the transport and food. That means they had to travel from their residential villages over 35miles along the village muddy roads to the van. And they were all needed from Thursday, the third day of our conference. I kept quiet where i was seated and there was silence for a while. But as she insisted saying that bishop needs a feedback from her, some pastors began to give their views. One of the pastor stood up and said ‘that amount of money is too much for them and the roads are so bad, according to me, we can't leave this important conference in which men of God have traveled all the way through the rain and muddy village roads with a great package of the written word of God/free bibles and great massages like this to go anywhere else''most of the pastors stood up and second the view of this pastor. Others blamed their bishops for ignoring them when they need help like for bible, then they take away evens the little they have. Others just moved out grumbling. Son
Second day [first venue] report-----On our second day, We had a great teachings, worshiping and
praising God with those traditional instruments playing a very sweet sounds and with village women making those sweet loud thrill, and eating together with all our village pastor/leaders. Everything was great, it rained during night (Tuesday night)
and our day was without rain. We told them never to serve us like they serve their bishops,
but to share every type of meal, no matter how little it is among everybody and we have to eat together with them all. NO special meal for us because we don't come among them as their slave masters/bosses but as their fellow brothers in the lord.
Church-house
Everybody felt so grateful and thankful to God for penning their understanding in many things including their identity as faithful and hardworking/active village ministers of God, biblical purpose of wealth in the church. Biblical methods of praying for the sick, helping the needy, giving teaching through BIBLES FOR UGANDA ministry.
During our evening session before we did the bible drive, they did some introductions of the leaders and short speeches were made by some of them. A man who had come to represent a bishop of the pastor whose church house was used as a venue for the conference stood up and said that bishop send his regard and appreciation to our team for the new bible we give his pastors, he wanted so much to come but could not manage due to bad muddy village roads. We then did the bible drive in great excitement and joy. That day we had over 600 people in attendance.
Fifty native language Bibles given at this venue
Pastors and Elders group photo
After the bible drive, the chairman pastor's fellowship stood up andasked me to launch this officially so that this kind of meetings may continue even without us. They may once in a while meet like this to study the word of God together. Because there was no unity like this among them pastors, and had never had a large number of pastors like his in their meeting before.I did it right away and prayed to God to keep them united like this always Then we closed the meeting and a boda boda guy took us to the second venue using an alternative road which was very far, but we arrived safely.
Second venue
The following morning our conference started again afresh and it was other great meeting/teachings of its kind.Question, interactions and every pastor got surprised to know that ministry like BIBLES FOR UGANDA exists here in Uganda. In this second venue we had over 570 pastors and leaders. We did the bible drive on Friday evening and then travel back safely
on Saturday. Morning.

Tree Project
Dad,
I traveled well to the village. My plan was only to attend the burial of my brother-in-law. I left Entebbe very early on tuesday,i had send to them somemoney to help them buy some food for the burial arrangement. I arived early before the burial, but i felt so sad to see the situation my sister is left in,especialy the type of house she was left in with her 5kids,a mud house without windows, door and with openings all over the mud walls. After burial i had to look for a way of helping my sister before i could leave. I hired some village men to help me work on this house.I removed my smart clothes and put on a working clothes and began to mud the house. We managed to make smooth the walls, make and fix the widows and door. This was agreat help to my sister. installing a door which this house had never previously had new door and windows a new rain gutter----rain water can be collected into barrels during the rainy season Jimmy and young villager working inside the house Jimmy putting new layer of mud to an inner wall

Dad,
Here are the photos of my sister's house. This
sister of me is going through a very difficult situation. She called me
yesterday and told me that her late husband borrowed 4 pieces of iron
sheets from his brother when he was building this house, which he died
before paying. Now the brother has told her to pay back the iron
sheets. If she can't pay, he is going to remove the very sheets from her
roof. She tried to plead for help from the family elder but they are all
supporting that her roof be removed if she can't pay back the iron
sheets because they accuse her of causing the death of their son by
refusing to leave salvation [the Christian faith] when her husband struggled with her all
along to leave salvation and she refused. The family is miss treating her a lot with her children. I always
take care of her with some little help, but I think the most important
help she needs from us both is prayer. She is a very strong woman in the
lord. She loves the lord so much. Son posted March 16, 2014 by administrator---
Conclusion to update
Dad,
I have just arrived in the house from the village.
replacement roofing purchased in Tororo Town and delivered to Osia village via boda boda
I also had to go and check on the seedlings man so that i could look at our trees.I found him having only one type of trees ready for planting. he sold the fast banch which had different type of tree we ordered for and we were suposed to get last month. He asked me to give him more weeks to work on other type of trees but the village men whom i had gone with advised me to take the trees because its the best type. So i decided to work on this isue also before i could get back to Entebbe.I coodinated with the Lc 1 chairman and his team, they took the task of mobilizing the village members. I then hired a small pickup and we collected the trees on sunday evening, more than 300 village members both christians and non christians gathered in one place to recieve the trees.conclusion of a tragic story----the Lord wins again! Osia, May 2013 report continued Jjaja----Jimmy's mom I told them that a muzungu lady called Janet(a wife to our late friend and fellow minister John burcham) donated the trees to them. Lc1 c/man and other comunity elders made apriciation speaches.the aprication, joy and happiness people showed me i have never seen before. They fast prayed for the muzungu woman, Omunene owekiwalata [Brother Danny ----big bald white man] and me for more blessings before recievings of the trees. Dad you can't imagine even the drunked men praying seriously and everyone was very calm. Some got 5 others 10 and 15. Those are just some of the photos i took i could not take all the photos. I was respected more than an MP of the area;they were all saying that we have done to them what even the goverment through their leaders have not done.Am sending more report. Son
Bikaali village Nkoni sub-county Masaka district
Dad,
I set off with my bags parked with our bibles and my clothes and other stuffs from Entebbe on Wednesday 19th Jun 2013 at 5:30am to find Joshua at the taxi park in Kampala. We met at Masaka road taxi part in Busega where we boarded a taxi [16 passenger van] which was to go directly to Nkoni village, about 25 miles from Masaka town. The taxi [van] as usual, took long to get full and when it got the 14 passagers as recommended by the traffic law, we took off from the taxi park but it goes on stopping, and stopping, looking for more passengers along the way. Due to that reason, we took long on the way and arrived at the conference at 1:00pm.We found the conference was already going on as they were waiting for our arrival. So after having lunch together with them, we resumed in the afternoon session. Joshua introduced a topic of warning to the village Church pastors and elders against Prosperity preachers, Manipulators, and all kind of false preachers and heretics. Then I taught in deep detail with many scriptural references, the biblical truth of all these matters. At the end of that first day conference, some pastors were not comfortable with our teachings. They felt offended because they are of the prosperity pimps who believe and preach lies which they were taught buy their bishops and apostles. One thing I told them is to go and study the scriptures by themselves that evening.............
Pastor Mukisa Joshua
We were being accommodated
in a pastor's home, about 1km down the valley from the church house. On our second day, when wake up early in the
morning but then we realized that there was only pastor, his wife plus their
two babies at home and pastor could wake up when we're still in bed to go and get some maize [corn], matoke [steamed banana], and sweet potatoes from the garden and
his wife could do all the kitchen work, laundry, take care of the babies and
many other house work. so we felt that we could not sit down and watch her over working
herself. We began to help her right away.
At first she was uncomfortable to see us doing any work because were being seen and handle by them as mighty men of God who are supposed to be served with great honor as bosses in every aspect. This is due to the fact that city preachers always go to them as bosses/masters, telling them that God has lifted them [Bishops and Apostles] to the level of being served with great honor after explaining to them that for us as NTFI--- BIBLES FOR UGANDA ministry, we are not mighty/great men of God, but servants of the mighty, great and the most high God and his people and we come to minister and to serve just like our lord Jesus Christ did. She then understood so well and felt very privileged for having learn t a great lesson that she knew not. So we took some jerrycans and slopped the to the well for some water. As we were climbing the hill from the well and I was carrying two 20 liter jerrycans, Joshua stood in front of me, looked at my face, and asked me if any bishop like the anointed men of God we have in Kampala and other cities can do the same. We imagined Pr Kayanja [pastor of largest Church in Uganda] going on foot with his body guards to a village well to fetch water for a poor village pastor's wife. He laughed at me and even sat down in the middle of the goatt path from the well. We then came back and did the laundry, clean the compound, shine everyone's shoes and within little time every work was done and we're all able to go to the conference in time.

At the conference,it was a
great day. Everyone was eagerly waiting to hear from as this time. Those who
were not comfortable with our teaching on the first day testified saying that
as they retired from the first day of the conference, they went and did a keen
study all the scriptures as we're teaching them and they came to know that they
had believed a lie and hated the truth. It was a great day, where everyone received
the truth with great joy. It amazed to hear city pastors teach like this.
On our third and the last day of the conference we woke up early in
the morning as usual and did help pastor's wife work and then we went to the church house for
the conference in time. We first had a teaching session before we did the bible
drive. We tough many things like a biblical way of praying for the sick and
who has to conduct the prayers as being the elders of the church and all
believer, NOT a "mighty man of God" from mega city churches alone
having the power to pray for others, the house of God as not a building/church but
Christians themselves among the elect. Different
pastors stood up and made short speeches of appreciation to God and to NTFI--
BIBLES FOR UGANDA as a team including all our donors for blessed them nightly
like this and they all confessed that our ministry is so unic that they have
never seen it anywhere. We then did the bible drive after lunch in the evening.
My goodness!!!! can't imagine seeing every one
so happy, singing and dancing praises
while the women make that trill in a sweet sound to their God for a special gift of his written word
in a very high quality, brand new bibles
in their native language with a leather zipper cover. After teaching them great truths of his
word through his servants.
Church house
There was a pastor in the congregation who was putting on a black glasses and I did not know that he had
one eye until the time of taking him a
photo with his new bible while holding it. When I showed him the photo of the
person who donated his bible, he was so excited that he removed his glasses in
order to have a good look of his donor's
photo. He asked me to take him a photo
without his glasses so that his face may be clearly seen. if his donor
will not mind seeing his terrifying left
eye. I told him its OK and he should not mind. As a matter of fact the donor
will even be more happy for having blessed him with that gift of a bible.
The pastors and elders treasured the bibles than anything else and so they begged us to allow them pray for us as we represent the whole ministry of NTFI BIBLES FOR UGANDA including our donors and for God to bring more and more donors and open door/provisions. We knelt down and they all raised their voices in prayer to God for us. Then we closed our conference with prayers and thanks giving. It was already late for us to travel back so we spend a night and then we traveled back the following morning. Many of them brought for us maize, matoke and yellow banana in the morning. Son Jimmy

report---Kawaga,
Kamuli district
Dad,
I traveled with my friend pr Peter who is connected me with the village pastors in kawaaga, Kamuli district (Busoga region). We left Entebbe on Monday 22nd at 5:00am. We took a taxi [16 passenger van] to Kampala, then boarded another taxi which to Kamuli, through a rough and dusty road from Jinja to Kamuli. Then hired a boda-boda [motor bike] to Kawaga village, riding on a dusty village road. We arrived at a village pastor's home at around 12 noon. We were welcomed with great Joy and served with milk tea and roasted peanut after a few minutes, then we went to the Church house where a team of ten pastors from different village Church had gathered waiting eagerly for us. They all received us with great joy.

Organizers-----Pastor Jimmy in jacket and blue shirt
After a short moment of praise and worship to God, a short prayer, we had a welcoming speech from the leader of pastors’
team, pr Peter, and then I was given to speak. I gave them a brief detail
about our ministry (NTFI bibles for Uganda), Appreciate and encouraged them for
the great work of God they are doing in the villages through many difficult
village situations, I shared with them encouraging words of Brother Danny ''The
sign and honor of faithful and committed village pastors and church leaders is
the holes in their old and dusty shoes, their tattered old trousers, and thir old bibles' '. They were so blessed with these words. God delights in these
ministers of his word that is why he chose to visit them with the truth and
bless them with new bibles.
Welcoming
Village Kitchen----meals for attendees
After my speech, everyone wanted to express the appreciation to the lord and to us in at least few words. But due to t he limited time, few of them did so. They are so thankful and blessed to host a Unic city preachers like us. They had never seen city preach/teach like us. The city preachers always preach about prosperity and manipulate them telling them to sell their goats, pigs, chickens, maize etc and bring all the money to those City preachers. They decided to do whatever possible to host us in three days of teaching because they are so eager to hear more from us. They expect too many village pastors and leader to come for the seminar, and they have a big challenge of food. There is a general lack of food in this communities due to a long trout winch destroyed their maize, sweet potatoes, beans and vegetable gardens. It's a serious shortage of food and water. They pleaded with us to allow the seminar take place regardless of the situation. We agreed and confirmed the seminar from 30th July-1st Aug.W e eat some food and traveled back that evening. report---Kawaaga Village, Kamuli
Eastern Uganda
Dad,
I forwarded the funds for food to our hosting team on Sunday because we knew that we would not make it in time to buy food in Kamuli town so they managed to perches 50kgs of rice and 2kgs of beans on Monday morning. We started our journey at 12noon on Monday 29th July. I boarded a taxi [16 passenger van] from Entebbe with my big bag packed with bibles, clothes and other stuff aboard the taxi van from Entebbe to Kampala to meet up with Joshua
purchasing native language Bibles in Kampala
16 passenger van called "taxi" in Uganda
I then meet with Joshua at the taxi park in
Kampala where we took another taxi which took us through that Dusty and rough
road of Jinja-Buwenge-Kamuli. It was too dusty with many potholes that the taxi
had to go in a low speed which lead to our delay on the road. We eventually
arrived in Kamuli town at 8:30 pm.
The only means to kawaaga village,
about 20miles from kamuli town, is by boda-boda [125cc motorbike] and the cost
doubles whenever it begins to gets dark, from 7:30pm through the night due to
the risk of riding at nite through those rough crooked village goat paths. We then took a boda boda [motorbike] ride to Kawaaga village.
Pastor Joshua on boda boda
We arrived at the home of
the pastor who was the head of organizing team. We were welcomed with great joy
by many pastors and elders who had already arrived that evening from far
places. After some few minutes, we were served with tea and roasted
peanuts. We had to endure to spend that night without taking bath even after
that long and dusty journey due to the fact that there was not enough water to
prepare our super and for our bath so we had to do away with bathing and wait
for food
After eating our super
and taking a good moment of worshiping and praying together, it was now time to
sleep. There was only two small village mattresses yet there were over twenty
pastors and elders who had arrived that evening. Fortunate enough, one of the
pastors had come with a wide tarpline so we spread it on the floor in a wide room and about ten
male pastor and elders were able to share the room and another room was
prepared for ladies.
accommodations--- Uganda style for twenty occupants
At 5:00am some of us had
to go to well for water, 2miles away, and due to the long Que of people waiting
to get water, they could come back at around 9:00am. In the morning, most
of the pastors were saying that the floor pressed their ribs a lot and they did
not sleep well because the floor was not level and too rough. I did level the
floor using a hoe as we wait for water and Joshua was cleaning the shoes. We
then took our bath, took breakfast and went to the conference at the church
house.

After making a
detailed introduction about our ministry ( NTFI bibles for Uganda), I
taut seriously about the HOUSE OF GOD [which house we are], and warn the
pastors and elders about FALSE PREACHERS; those who teach other gospel/teaching
of men.
Pastor Jimmy-----a bold Ugandan teacher
Joshua handled topics on New testament Christianity best, on the cross
and blood of Jesus Christ. We had morning teaching and another session after
eating our lunch. After the conference, we had interactions with different bishops,
pastors and elders who attended the conference that day. We realized that most
of them have not even receive basic teachings on salvation and leadership. They
have never had sound and strong teaching like this. Even their leaders from
their mother churches do not visit them. They only bear their
denomination/ministry names and nothing more. Joshua opens with fundamental
teaching on atonement
Pastor Joshua -----teacher and praise leader
They no longer have
pastors fellowships. Some of them still believe in witchcraft, consult the
demons, they have many disputes that they each one runs to the court of law but
all in vain. There had many issues among them that we had to sit down with
Joshua and ask the lord to give us clear direction and guidance on how to handle
and which topic to teach the next day.
That evening when they
were still cooking our super from that kitchen in the photos, a heavy rain came
from nowhere, putted off the fire, all the firewood got wet and could not continue
until the rain stopped. After the rain, they resumed the cooking then after a
serious struggle, the food was served at midnight. Despite the disturbance, the rain
was a great blessing because they needed it desperately due to long drought
which destroyed every food plantations/gardens and dried up most of the water
sources. That night we managed to trap enough rain water for the next day.

On Wednesday 31st which
was our second day, we tout in detail about Forgiveness, Love, Settling
Disputes and Qualifications of a true leader in the New testament Church. Then
on Thursday 1st Aug, which was our third and last day, we used the first half
of our morning session for questions in line with what they had learned from
the true word of God through our teachings. Ooh what a wonderful and blessed
moment it was to them and to us as well. Their questions was a clear sign that they
had accepted the word with joy and they are willingly looking for every
possible means of putting them into practice. The second half was a moment of
our final remark, repentance and reconciliation every one with his brother in a place
called Bukungu by the shores of lake kyoga. It
has150 members but only him and his associate pastor are the ones who
have bibles and their bibles are also very old
This things are hard to
believe but they are true stories. Sometime we also find it difficult to
believe but we are forced to believe them because we hear them with our own
ears and see with our eyes.
a typical village Bible and the driving force behind "Bibles for Uganda"
After the bible drive, they
joined their hand and raise their voices to God in prayers for us on behalf of
NTFI bibles for Uganda. Then pastor of the host Church, his elders and pastors,
and elders who had come from the nearby
Churches begged us to have a short meeting with them before we leave because
they had a serious disputes, hatred, fight and disunity which resulted into the
destruction of their pastors' fellowship many years back. And they wanted to
make peace and reconcile with each other and launching the pastors fellowship/unity
again and start a new journey. I shared the meeting and Joshua was with me. The
meeting was a great success, blessing and a moment of new binging to everyone.
A moment of repentance, forgiveness, happiness, great joy and laying a Godly
strategy of the new journey with God at different levels in leadership.

Drought report from Kamuli
Uganda, East Africa [25 miles north of Jinja]
Dad,
I started my journey from Entebbe on Thursday 15th and traveled safely to Bugiri town in south eastern Uganda near the Kenyan border. I could not continue with my journey to the village because it was already too late to travel on a boda boda [motor bike] so I spend a night in a motel in Bugiri town after making communication with the pastors who were waiting for me at the village. Very early on Friday morning, I took a boda-boda ride to the village. I arrived at 9:00am in that village called Nsoono, east Buyinja sub-county, Namayingo district (near Busia district). I found when some of the village organizing pastors have already arrived. At around 10:30am we started our meeting with a team of 15 village church pastors and elders which is our August mission organizing/hosting team. Each one of them is representing a village church from all over Buyinja sub-county to form one team. I was warmly welcomed on behalf of NTFI bibles for Uganda. After giving them every detail about our ministry (NTFI-BFU) they all loved love us the more with great joy and welcomed our conference in their sub-county. They said that this ministry is a great blessing and encouragement to them because their greatest need is the rightful knowledge of God's word and the written word of God (bibles). We all agreed that the conference shall begin on August 28th-30th. We closed our meeting, had some meal and then I started my Journey to Kamuli at around 1:00pm. I arrived in Kamuli at 6:00pm and found when Joshua was already there from Kampala. We were with the pastor who hosted us during our last bible mission in Kawaaga village. We then went to a farm supply shop which has a professional/trained person to help us. We made maximum inquiries until we were more than sure that we are buying the best type of planting seeds we need. I then paid for 250kgs [575 lbs] of improved maize seeds and 125kgs [285 lbs] of beans. By the time we finished the perches, it was already too late for us to transport all the seed to the village. It was already dark (9:00pm). We took 100kgs [230 lbs] of beans and kept the remaining kgs of the beans and maize seeds at the shop then traveled on a boda boda to that village pastor's home in Kawaaga village. beans for planting corn for planting
I
had told this pastor that this donation
is given to the most poor village members who are unable to buy planting
seed
after their gardens was destroyed by serious drought including water
funds. He
is to coordinate with the chairpersons of every village leader whose
zone is
gonna benefit from this program. I also had told the pastor that neither
the
seeds nor water donation is for any specific group of Christian or
church, but it's
a gift to the whole community. The church is to benefit like any other
community
members. and the Lc1 chairpersons are the ones to take full
responsibility in this program since they are the community leaders and
they know best the situation
of every village member.
That night I contacted some LC1 chairmen find out more on how they have been coordinating with the pastor and how they have planed to give out the seeds and where the venue is gonna be. I also wanted to inform them that I wanted to meet with them early the next morning to discus the issue of water before we give out the planting seeds, but they told me that the pastor did not tell them anything concerning this program. They only had rumors that the Church is giving out planting seeds to their members and some few selected community members and that every beneficiary must pay 1000 schillings [35 cents--a day's wages]. I told Joshua what was going on and we felt so sad about it. We called the pastor and asked him again whether he was coordinating with other pastors and community leaders and he deceived us again saying he has been working hand in hand with every LC 1 chairpersons of different zones and other pastors and they had all chosen his church house as the venue of supplying the seeds. On Saturday morning, two LC 1 c/men came and in front of the pastor I asked them again, and they said that pastor told them nothing. They only had rumors for the villagers. I gave them full detail about our ministry (NTFI bible for Uganda) and this donation from Janet Burcham which is coming to them through BFU and I even showed them her photo. I also confronted this pastor before them and gave others full responsibility in this program. We chose to give out the seed from one of the poor village home not from the church house, because the purpose of this donation is not to promote any pastor, church, or anyone but to help the poor village people. Pastor just kept quiet. We then went ahead to discuss how to help their community get clean water. I shared with them about our suggestion of drilling wells or building water tanks. But we found out that its costly to drill wells and its very difficult to trap water into the tanks because there are few iron roofs in the village. They told me that the Uganda Red Cross Wants to drill for them a borehole but the community members have to contribute 200,000 schillings [2,400 schillings = 1 dollar].
After disusing the issue of the contribution
which the Red Cross people want from the community members before they can
drill for them a borehole, I decided to use part of Janet's donation to take
care of this need. We then closed the meeting and they were all
very happy and appreciating BFU for the great help. The Lc1 chairman told me
that we have real saved him from the great struggle to raise this huge sums of
money from the poor villagers. We then proceeded to supply venue at around 10:30am where we found many people had already arrived. All planting seeds were brought to the venue and the function was opened
officially with prayer and a brief meeting. The local leaders of three
villages gave their appreciation speeches and pleaded with their people
never to
miss use this seeds or sell them instead of planting. I was then given
to
speak.
I gave a detailed
information about NTFI bible for Uganda and told them about our dear
friend Janet Burcham who was so much moved by our July mission report
about this
village and donated planting seeds and cash funds of 250,000= towards
borehole
drilling [well] program to their community. I also challenged them
concerning
the love of God. How loving is our God that he considers to help a
hopeless
poor persons in Kawaaga village using a white woman all the way from
America.
How he loves the poor and the rich.
Among us were some poor disabled people who
cannot dig but when they had that there was a special donation which was
brought to the most poor people they also came. I felt so moved within me
and decided to give them some cash money instead of seeds. Joshua also gave a
short speech and then we hand over the seeds to the chair persons community
leaders who were around and everybody prayed for the donor (Janet Burcham] before
we began to give out the seeds. Then we went on to give out the seeds.
We had selected people from the five different zones of KAWAAGA parish, Balawoli Sub-county in Kamuli district. Here are the detail of beneficiaries:- 1.Butoli zone........30people. 2.Busubo zone 29people. 3.Butalage 1 zone 15people. 4.Butalage 2 zone 76 people 5.Buyima zone 12people. seeds arriving at the supply center, each bag transported by boda boda [motorbike] Jimmy at the supply center handing over the seed officially to the village representative----a photo of Janet Burcham [donor] Janet Burcham -----donor from North Carolina USA dividing the seed sacks of seed measuring seed portions patiently waiting for seed a few of the many who received planting seed----each vowing not to eat seed but to save it for the rainy season to come line waiting to receive seed Joshua distributing seed collecting every seed that has fallen to the ground-----not one wasted village leader giving speach some of the receiving villagers After giving out the seed, I handed over the cash donation for water programme to the LC 1 chairman for Butalage 2 zone who was gonna bank the money into the Red Cross account on Monday. I started my journey on Tuesday 27th
at 10:00am from Entebbe caring my big bag packed with
bibles and other stuffs. I found Joshua already waiting for me in Kampala
at the taxi park by the time I arrived there. We then boarded a taxi going to
Bugiri town. We left the taxi park at 12 noon but due to
heavy traffic between Kampala and Mukono, we arrived in Bugiri at around 8:00pm. The weather was good this time and the road was dry except
too much dust which was not a big deal to us because this time we had jackets, eye
glasses and head covers as you can see in the photos when we're on a boda-boda
[motor bike].
So we were
able to get a boda boda to Namayingo, about 25 miles ride and then we took another
boda-boda which took us 10 more miles to the conference ground in Nsoono
village. We arrived safely at around 10:30pm and found
when they have been waiting for us since day time, and with great joy and those
sweet trills of the village women we were warmly welcomed. It was a tiresome
and hectic journey and so after taking some tea and a meal (millet bread and
beans), we had a wonderful moment in prayer with the team of pastors and elders
then we went to bed.
The following morning on Wednesday 28th, our conference kicked off with some few people. Joshua taught in the morning session and I taught after lunch and the people were touched by our teaching.
Before the conference ended, a pastor whose
church house was chosen as the venue for the conference, and his house for our accommodation,
and other few visitors from far, stood up and began to boast saying ''Now I
think every one of you can see how God have lifted me and made me a mighty man
among you. He has highly anointed and blessed me and my ministry that am able
to host such a great teaching in this sub-county. We are even going to give you
bibles for free. I am supposed to be honored from now on". I stood
up right away to correct this man in front of his fellow pastors and elders and
made a clear and thral explanation about NTFI-BFU, our donors, Danny's effort, all
donations, and how everything is done in our ministry, missions, and who receives
all the glory and honor is God alone. Everyone got
relieved, happy, bless appreciated my explanation. I also held a meeting
with the organizing committee that evening and had a serious talk with them.
Pastor Jimmy shows photo of NTFI/BFU co founder and explains our mission
On
Thursday 29th, our second day, we had more people in the conference and
it was a great and successful day. Lots of interactions and questions
after every session. In the evening, we had many pastors who had come
from far and accommodated and fed. That evening they prepared much food for
super and there was not enough food left for the last day since we expected
even more people to join on the last day so I used part of the balance
from the food funds and bout 30kgs of millet flour,7kgs of beans, cabbages and
other stuffs, 100,000= total.
That evening
Joshua got a very sick with fever and very high temperature that he could not
walk nor sit. I tried so much to get him some medication but all in vain because
we were very far from a reasonable medical clinic or phamercy apart from a nearby
drug shop which had only few Panadol tablets which expired long time. So the best i did was to pray for him and wipe
him with a wet towel till the following morning when he got a bit better but too weak to stand and
teach.
On Friday, David Chan called very early in the morning. He had
spent a night in Namayingo town. He had some important program there and he was
coming to meet us briefly so that he can get back there. I directed him and
before long he arrived on a boda boda. We had a brief discussion with him and
Joshua talking about number of issues concerning our ministry and missions. About
holding a big teaching conference at his place in Busia town, I told him that
we shall fast discus with Danny and then if we agree, I first have to go there
for ground work and meet a team of pastors and elders. He then left before our
meeting started.
The conference started at 9:30am with many more pastors, ministers, Apostle, bishops and overseers arriving from big and small ministries and we had a great day. After the first half of my morning teaching they ask me to have an interaction session with them whereby they can ask questions and share different issues so that I can give then advice and counsel according to the knowledge of the word of God they have seen in us. We did that and we were all blessed greatly. In conclusion we had a wonderful moment of reconciling, repentance, and thanksgiving to God. We then had a wonderful moment of bible drive. Different leaders stood and gave official thanks and prayers to BFU on behalf of all the Churches and we closed the conference.

Preparation for yearly Conference
The
lord touched our friends from different places to donate toward our
effort of providing native bibles to our poor village pastors and gospel
minister whose own bibles are too old and dilapidated and those without
any yet and they cannot afford to buy a new bible. I received enough funds for 41 Luganda and Swahili bibles which are
already in our store for the November and December mission, when brother
Danny from US will join us. Here is my ground work report
Purchasing Luganda and Swahili Bibles in Kampala----then back to Entebbe to await the Planning Conference in Nakawa I began my journey from Entebbe on Friday 27th.Sept.2013 in morning.Boarding the first taxi [16 passenger van] to Kampala, second taxi to Kamuli, third one to Ntaala (Buyende district)west, Eastern Uganda, then finally a boda-boda [motorbike and driver] to the ground village called Nakawa where the conference is gonna take place. It was a whole day journey through slippery/muddy,and dusty roads. I arrived at 7:30pm,and found some pastors and Christians, men and women waiting to receive me with great joy. I loved and can't even explain the happiness, trilling and much joy which they all had when I arrived. We all joined our hands together before anything else to give thanks, praises and worship to God for my safe journey. It was indeed a blessed evening to me. After relaxing for a while,I took my bath, ate my supper and had a wonderful time of prayer before going to bed them I had a good night on a village bed. On Saturday 28th we had to travel to Ntaala for a meeting with the team of the organizing pastors and elders from different village churches from different villages. The meeting was to begin at 10:00am but we looked for a boda boda to take us about 8miles but we could not get one until when it was already getting late and the pastors were us that they have gathered already. I remember that I can ride a bicycle very well and came up with the idea of using bicycle. They all could not accept my idea but I Insisted and Just picked up pastor's bicycle jumped on it and began to ride away telling him to sit and we go.
Jimmy demonstrating his riding skills to doubtful village Pastor
I had a great meeting with 15 pastors/elders.Among them was a village bishop.I was given enough time to speak. I shared with them in detail about NTFI(BFU) They all loved our ministry and together welcomes Us with great joyexpecting to receive much through us from God.They cant wait to see their new bibles. In our meeting we discussed and agree on number of issues. 1.We BFU are taking care of our own transport fairs, pay for the hotelrooms, hold all the teachings and give our bibles to the pastors and elders who are in active gospel service and they have very old and dilapidated bibles. 2.The hosting pastors will will take care of all the local guest's accommodation, all food and water during at the conference. 3.No PA system at the conference unless we receive so many people that our voice alone cannot reach every one.then we shall know how to hand the situation. 4. We then concluded our meeting buy electing the executive committeeof the hosting team. We then rode back on our bicycle to Nakawa with pastor Alkek, where i ate big full fish during every meal time. The following morning on Sunday we went to Pastor Alkek's fellowship for the Sunday morning Church service. I did the the teaching during the main service, and the Church was so blessed. Then on Monday morning, I started my journey to Tororo(Osia) as earlyas 7:00am.One of the pastors took me on a bicycle to Nakawa where I boarded my first taxi to Kamuli, another to Jinja, another to Tororo then a boda boda to Osia. I arrived at 7:00pm. I found when Jaja [my Mom] and every one else is doing fine. They were very happy to about my new brick maker and took days with me in prayer and thanksgiving to God in advance for the new machine praying and dedicating the machine into the hands of God. Makiga interlocking soil brick-makers need no concrete between layers, and need no firing which eliminates the need for firewood, a major contributor to deforestation in this area. I also took a walk around the village to see how the trees which Janet donated to Osia village(eastern Uganda) in the name of her late husband John Burcham.Every one in the village is so thankful for the trees, its a great blessing to the whole village and its growing in a magic speed as you can see in the photos
.
TWO THOUSAND trees donated by Janet Burcham in memory of her late husband and Film documentary Missionary, John Burcham. Janet lives in Walkertown North Carolina, U.S.A. John was placed to rest in Uganda at his wife's request in 2012. Danny McDowell and Pastor Bita James Oloo officiated I also had a meeting with the village builder who is one of village old friend and we did some planing together and He gave me the cost of every building materials that we need for construction using the brick-maker. Then I traveled back to Entebbe on Thursday morning.
